History of Grama Panchayat
Aymanam is a region with a history in which legends and realities are intertwined. The main legend is that the name 'Aivar Vanam', meaning the 'forest of the five Pandavas', where the Pandavas stayed during their exile, gradually became 'Aymanam' through linguistic evolution. The present-day Aymanam Grama Panchayat was formed by combining Kudamaloor and Aymanam, which were under the rule of the native kings of Thekkumkoor and Chempakassery.
